Here at Sacred Heart Church we are lucky to be able to run a Children’s Liturgy group every Sunday during term time. We have two groups managed by one leader volunteer, and one helper volunteer. Our first group of Children are aged 4 to 7 years old and the older group are aged 7 to 11. Please feel free to come and join us any Sunday and take part.
Everyone involved with the Children’s Liturgy group are all from very diverse backgrounds and work on a Voluntary basis. A few things we have in common are a mutual interest in our Children’s welfare and moral education. We are an enthusiastic group with a desire to help.
The Children’s Liturgy session centres around the gospel relevant to that Sunday. Prayer plays a big part as does the theme of the day, which is delivered and discussed on an age related basis.
Art and craft work take centre stage here, which help impart important points to be conveyed and learnt in the best way possible. It is an enjoyable, fun and educational experience for the Children and adults alike.
We are always looking for new volunteers to keep our Children’s Liturgy running. If you are interested in joining our team of dedicated, like-minded people and can spare some time please contact the Parish Priest or speak to one of the Volunteers after 10.30 am Sunday Mass.
We look forward to hearing from you.
